The moment Enrique Foster first tried an Argentine Malbec, he resolved to go to Mendoza and produce a Malbec with the optimum characteristics of that variety. He purchased an old vineyard in Lujan de Cuyo and engaged winemaker Mauricio Lorca to oversee the vinification of the old Malbec grapes in a new purpose-built winery.
With the passage of time and with the guidance of Mauricio, Enrique discovered the virtues of wine-growing areas beyond Lujan and in varieties in addition to Malbec. This led him to Valle de Uco, the source today of the grapes used for the various varietals and blends produced by the Foster Lorca Winery.
Recalling that first taste of Malbec which gave rise to his interest in Argentina, Enrique Foster invites you to try his wines - traditional, elegant, renown for their quality. His objective is to produce distinctive wines of great personality, which respect and emphasize the potential of argentine terroir highlighting those qualities unattainable in other parts of the world.
